AJ Perkins is a clean energy strategist, author, and ecosystem builder focused on advancing affordable, reliable, and community-centered energy solutions. He is the co-founder of H2MatchMaker.com, a platform designed to help communities, utilities, project developers, and technology providers move clean energy and hydrogen projects from idea to execution by improving coordination and clarity in decision-making.
AJ has spent more than two decades working across renewable energy, microgrids, hydrogen, and infrastructure development. He has served as CEO and senior executive for multiple energy companies, leading large-scale projects across Hawaiʻi, California, and the continental U.S. His work includes community microgrids, energy-as-a-service models, public-private partnerships, and early hydrogen deployment strategies.
In addition to his work with H2MatchMaker, AJ advises startups, nonprofits, and public agencies on clean energy commercialization, market entry, and community-based deployment. He is a frequent speaker at national and regional clean energy conferences, including RE+, and is the author of several award-winning and forthcoming books on energy, resilience, and infrastructure.
Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, AJ maintains deep ties to the islands. His work is guided by the belief that energy systems should strengthen communities, support local economies, and create long-term resilience for future generations.
