Jerry Leslie Chang served for 24 years in the Hawaii House of Representatives. He chaired the committees on Tourism and Culture, Higher Education, and Water and Land. Served as the Director of University Relations at UH Hilo for 6 years. He is a consultant and realtor in Hilo and served in the U. S. Army 7th Special Forces Group (ABN).
